Development of New Winder for Paper Coating Line
The winders at both ends of a coating line were previously built in different sizes and degrees of automation. A new, bigger, customized size was to be added to the range of the fully automated type.
Aim:
A new size was to be designed based on the existing types. Production documents and parts lists were also to be included in the delivery.
Procedure:
- Based on drawings of the smaller machines and the specifications from our client with regard to the main dimensions of the new size, first the rewinder and then the similar, but simpler, unwinder was designed.
- The strain on the bearings was to be verified by FEM analysis.
- Development throughput time: four months, with about 1,000 man-hours of work
Result:
Delivery of all production documents for the new-sized customized winder on time
