Battery Blower
A manufacturer of professional power tools wanted to expand his successful product range by adding a powerful lithium ion battery blower. Helbling Technik took over the definition and conception, as well as the development and design of the device. The battery technology opens up new areas of application which have hitherto not been possible for the combustion devices.
Aim:
A blower which was superior to all of the battery blowers on the market in terms of blowing power, weight and ergonomics.
Our tasks:
- The definition and concept of the entire device
- Development / design of the device (whereby the handle and electronics were adopted from other devices as existing units)
- Creation and testing of functional models / prototypes
- Project management, project planning and coordination with the customer’s various internal specialist departments
Procedure:
- In view of the high target specifications, monitoring of the important features was performed simultaneously to the design process
- The high pressure in terms of the schedule required deviation from the customer’s standard procedure. In order to manage the development risks, additional FEM analyses were therefore performed and preference was given to tests using prototyping parts wherever possible.
Result:
The device has been on sale with great success since March 2011
