Analysis and Optimization of Energy Consumption for Household Appliances

Strict guidelines (EuP 2010) set the constraints for future product development. Norms governing energy consumption in the production, use, and disposal of an appliance will be passed in the coming years. From 2010, for example, appliances must not consume more than 1 W in standby mode. Knowledge of the relevant legal requirements and norms as well as the scope of the processes and technologies needed to comply with them is thus essential to the successful development of appliances.
